Because Oprah told me to, I have been practicing the power of attraction with a free vacation in mind. Then today I received a postcard that says that I am the chosen one. The chooser: US Airlines. I would have to call a 800 number to claim "2 Roundtrip Airfares - Plus, Wine Tasting in Napa." Oh My Secret...it worked. Then I searched the interwebs to see if anyone else was the chosen one. I entered the 800 number and was taken to a messageboard on 800notes.com in which people reported this postcard as a scam. After I dried my tears, cursed Oprah, and destroyed the Secret DVD, I posted my story. So here's what I wrote...
"Received a similar postcard and this one looked like a 7th grader made it on his home computer. The front showed a picture a moving van traveling across the desert under a beautiful blue sky. In capital off-centered letters the first line reads, "LONG MOVE, SHORT MOVE, NO MOVE IS FUN" with bold faced, "How About A Vacation!" underneath. Then my name appears under that. (Each line contained a different font.) The back has a US Airlines logo with the "TM" included, the 1-800-809-6310 phone number, and in tiny print in the bottom left hand corner it says, "Design and Layout Copyright 2007". Oh, and the bonus was wine tasting. It's funny how I now realize it's a scam and how obvious it's a scam, but how badly I wanted it to be real at first. I almost called, but thankfully I put the # into a search engine. I guess The Secret doesn't work."
Maybe I shoud've explained that last sentence a little more since I don't blame the scammers. I blame Oprah and The Secret for sending me this postcard and tricking me into thinking I was going on a free fly-fly. I hate you, The Secret, I hate you.
